Thank you so much for participating – and I apologize in advance if this letter is in no way helpful. This is my first time doing yuletide and I’m so nervous about making it bad both for my recipient and the person writing for me.
The fandoms I’ve decided to ask for are:
Gifted (2017)
Cainsville - Kelley Armstrong
Iron Fist (TV)
Hidden Legacy Series - Ilona Andrews
Guild Hunter - Nalini Singh
Goon (2011)
Before I go into specifics, I’ll guess I’ll start just in general. I’m okay with any rating – write whatever you feel comfortable, or that you think would best fit the story. Porn is good, but also no porn is good. I like AUs (Space! Hogwarts! Mafia!) and typical tropes (soulmates! Accidentally dating! Magic!). Polyamory especially when canon seems to be leading there (but even if it doesn’t). I like fluff and comedy, sassiness. Not a big fan of sadness, unless it ends happily. I’m not a fan of bathroom function kinks, death, torture (unless it’s canon-typical).
Tags that typically get me to click are Protective!Character, Slow Burn, Friends to Lovers, Happy ending, Fluff, Team as Family, Family Feels, anything regarding baking/cooking for others, cuddling & snuggling, kid fic, teasing, flirting, matchmaking, stupid bets, domestic fluff, families of choice…. There’s probably a ton more, but these are the ones I picked as I was going through the list of most recent fics in my favorite fandoms. Mainly, I don’t really have any expectations and I’ll just be thrilled with whatever.
Okay, so more specific:
Gifted (2017):(any combination of Mary, Frank, and/or Roberta) Okay, so I watched this movie for the first time after nominations were closed, so then I was desperately hoping someone had nominated it because I loved it. I’d love something that explores the relationship between Mary and Frank – especially after what happens with Evelyn. What is their relationship like when she’s a teenager? What happens when Evelyn is done defending her mom’s work? I also love Roberta and would love to know more about how she became part of their family.
Cainsville - Kelley Armstrong: (Any combo of Olivia, Gabriel, and/or Ricky) Okay, so I liked the way the series ended BUT I think like a lot of people, I was upset that it didn’t end up OT3, so I’d love something that explores that possibility. I’d also love something that shows how the agreement was drafted that Olivia had the time when both sides could not try to sway her one way or the other, because I was frustrated that wasn’t shown in the books.
Iron Fist (TV): (Ward Meachum) I started out hating Ward but by the end, I kind of loved him. So I’d love something that focused on him, preferably as he is at the end of the show rather than the jerk he was at the beginning (I mean, I’m sure he’s still a jerk afterwards, but a more loveable jerk).
Hidden Legacy Series - Ilona Andrews: (any combo of Nevada, Connor, Leon, and/or Penelope) I love everyone in this series pretty much. I’d love more about Nevada and Connor. Or something about Penelope. I am so intrigued by Leon and his ability and how he’ll use it. Like, I just want so much more in this universe.
Guild Hunter - Nalini Singh: (Any) I just finished Archangel’s Venom, which was great and also discussed some interesting updates between Aodhan and Illium which I think would be cool to explore. I’m also up for basically any character in the novels – the interactions between the Seven would be fascinating to see more of, and of Elena’s relationship with them all.
Goon (2011): (any combo of Doug, Pat, and/or Xavier LaFlamme) First, If you want to also include Goon: Last of the Enforcer stuff in this, totally cool cause I loved it. I’d love something that shows the friendship between Doug and Pat and Doug and LaFlamme, plus the fun, messed up stuff they get into.
I’m going to enjoy whatever is written, I’m sure. Thank you again!
