Thank you so much for participating – and I apologize in advance if this letter is in no way helpful. This is my second time doing yuletide and I’m still so nervous about making it bad both for my recipient and the person writing for me.
The fandoms I’ve decided to ask for are:
Iron Fist (TV)
Hidden Legacy Series - Ilona Andrews
Kate Daniels - Ilona Andrews
October Daye Series - Seanan McGuire
The Bright Sessions (podcast)
Before I go into specifics, I’ll guess I’ll start just in general. I’m okay with any rating – write whatever you feel comfortable, or that you think would best fit the story. Porn is good, but also no porn is good. I like AUs (Space! Hogwarts! Mafia!) and typical tropes (soulmates! Accidentally dating! Magic!). Polyamory especially when canon seems to be leading there (but even if it doesn’t). I like fluff and comedy, sassiness. Not a big fan of sadness, unless it ends happily. I'm also a fan of good old holiday feelgood fluff fic. I’m not a fan of bathroom function kinks, death, torture (unless it’s canon-typical).
Tags that typically get me to click are Protective!Character, Slow Burn, Friends to Lovers, Happy ending, Fluff, Team as Family, Family Feels, anything regarding baking/cooking for others, cuddling & snuggling, kid fic, teasing, flirting, matchmaking, stupid bets, domestic fluff, families of choice…. There’s probably a ton more, but these are the ones I picked as I was going through the list of most recent fics in my favorite fandoms. Mainly, I don’t really have any expectations and I’ll just be thrilled with whatever.
Okay, so more specific:
Iron Fist (TV): (Any combo of Ward, Misty, Colleen, Bethany) I started shipping Ward/Misty during season two - I love their snark! But I also want to know how Ward deals with becoming a dad, especially since Bethany doesn't seem to want him around because of his issues. I'm also super interested in how Colleen handles things now that she has the Iron Fist (and what happens when she finds out about Danny having two now?) Basically - I want post season 2 fic since we're not getting season three.
Hidden Legacy Series - Ilona Andrews: (any combo of Nevada, Connor, Bern, and/or Arabella) I love everyone in this series pretty much. I’d love more about Nevada and Connor. It was hard to choose which characters to ask for - if you want to include other family members, that would be great - I love their relationships with each other, and I love exploring how their magic works.
Kate Daniels - Ilona Andrews: (Derek Gaunt) Who doesn't love Derek? I want him to be happy, and I thought that was going to lead to Julie, but now that Julie is off wandering, is that still where his heart lies? If you don't want to write anything shippy, I also just love Derek working for Kate - taking cases, being a badass, typical Derek stuff.
October Daye Series - Seanan McGuire (Quentin Sollys, Raj) - I ship these two, but also just really love their friendship if you want to keep closer to canon. They have so much in common even though from two separate courts and I love are they're always there for each other (and October and Tybalt). Would love to see incidences of mischief, or them just bro-ing out while October is off not getting into trouble. Or maybe visiting other characters (The Luidaeg is always up for interesting times right? Or maybe having dinner with Quentin's parents when they're in town?)
The Bright Sessions (podcast) (Damien, Mark, Samantha) - I listened to this for the first time this summer and loved it. I wanted to know more about everyone, but I also really felt like there could be some sort of polyamorous thing between Damien/Mark/Samantha - would it work out? Maybe not, but I also thought they should try. But I'm also cool with anything else for these characters - what happens five years from now? Where are they and what are they doing? Does Damien get his power back? Does Mark meet anyone else with super awesome powers (maybe the person doesn't even know they have them until Mark gets them?) Is Sam still trying to help atypicals through the AM? I also love the idea of AUs in this canon - no powers, different powers, etc.
